Hi All,
I have been off the grid for a while. I have been studying for a certification exam and spending some time in Philly (more on that later).
I have been meaning to link to this series from NPR called Consumed - Is Our Consumer Society Sustainable?
Here is the verbiage from the official marketing text on their website:
We are what we buy — a glib adage to be sure, but it prompts an interesting question: Is our consumer society sustainable? American Public Media takes on that question in this special series. We follow consumerism from its origins to its dominance in the world's economy and, arguably, its culture. And we examine how, and if, it might be adapted to reduce its destructive consequences while keeping store shelves stocked.
I think that this is especially relevant during our holiday season that focuses on consumerism. I have linked to some of my favorite segments of the series:
Go ahead, I know you want to. NPR is like brain candy!
Cheers,
TMac
Man I can't wait for this exam to be over with
